The owners of Joli's German Shepherd Dogs at Whistledown Kennel are John and Lisa Michoff. They have been breeding animals since 1969. In 1972 they purchased Whistledown Kennel. Since then they have operated it as a full time family business of breeding, boarding, training and exhibiting their beloved Shepherds.

They have dedicated their lives to the advancement and improvement of their beloved breed, the German Shepherd Dog. Their dogs have been highly successful in conformation shows, obedience shows, the Schutzhund ring, for police work, and in the thousands of homes as guardians and friends.

John & Lisa have bred, campaigned, and finished three German Shepherd Champions. All three of these great dogs have x-rayed "normal" in hips and elbows, and have been certified by the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals (OFA). John and Lisa have been registered members of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America since 1969, and registered signers of "The Breeders' Code". Learn more about Joli's Breeding Program.

John & Lisa have been professional dog trainers since 1969 at Whistledown Kennel, and have held more than one thousand dog obedience classes for their clients, 4-H children, and the general public. Over the years, John & Lisa have conducted exhibitions for schools, police, and various county education courses.

Whistledown Kennel lies on a scenic, park-like ten-acres in the Algonac, Michigan countryside. Surrounded by rows of 50 foot evergreens, Whistledown's well manicured lawns are home to weekly obedience and agility training sessions.

Numerous veterinarians, other breeders, and judges have often sought out Lisa's advice on various matters regarding conformation and obedience training, health care, treatment, upkeep, special environmental problems, special breeding and whelping problems, and artificial insemination. Lisa is well known as an expert in canine diet and nutrition, especially for the German Shepherd Dog.

All German Shepherd Dogs at Whistledown Kennel are purebred and AKC registered, and are sold with a written lifetime guarantee against any and all congenital or inherited diseases. All dogs are implanted with a micro chip for positive identification. The kennel is open seven days a week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. John and Lisa also import dogs from Germany and England by special order. Whistledown's kennels are exceptionally clean, county-state inspected, AKC inspected, and fully licensed by all governmental agencies.

John has written a book, PUPPY LUV, which instructs each new dog owner with every phase of how to successfully raise a puppy.

Whistledown Kennel is located forty-five minutes northeast of Detroit. From Detroit take I-94 East to Exit #243 (23 Mile Road) and turn right onto M-29; follow M-29 for eighteen miles into Algonac; go past the Harsen's Island Ferry and keep going for one long block to Nook Road and turn left; go on for two blocks until the dead end; turn left onto Field Road; go three-quarters of a mile, then turn right at the large kennel sign into the parking lot.
